Focused on Player Development
The District Champ Development League places focus on the development of players, not the results of each match.
Season over season youth sports measures success by wins and losses, this places focus on matches and games. This win-at-all-cost mentality has taken away from the development of Future Champions, stunting their individual growth.
It is time to rethink youth sports.
Develop Skills and Abilities
Unlike traditional recreational leagues, District Champ focuses on developing the skills and abilities of our Future Champions. Each week your Future Champion will participate in 1 flexible camp training session and 1 team training session. This combination gives every player the chance to work on individual skills and team skills that normal recreational leagues do not offer.
Grade Developed Leagues
There is a very big difference between a 2nd grader and a 1st grader. We do not believe that because you are a grade level older, you should dominate your league. Our focus is to keep all Future Champions working and developing at the same pace as their peers. Our leagues are based on the grade level only.
Large rosters lead to less playing time, more waiting during drills, and limit development. Our rosters are smaller, meaning less substitution, more 1 on 1 time with team coaches, and the need to learn more positions on the pitch. Each roster typically has 2-4 substitutions per team to help maximize individual development.
Small-sided games allow players to improve skills with and without the ball, make faster decision making, and improve confidence with the ball. All our development teams are built with the US Soccer Association development to increase the ability of each Future Champion.
